The Old Wulfs Sports Festival started over 20 years ago as a small number of Old Wulfs asked JJ if they could come back to school and play the 1st XI at football. JJ duly obliged and the first football match was played. After the game a few moved off to the Quarter House public house (no longer there) for a few beers before moving in to town for a curry. So enjoyable was the day that all vowed to come back again next year. A few more Old Wulfs were encouraged to join in and each year the numbers swelled as those leaving each year and having played as the school 1st XI, saw the opportunity to use the day to keep in touch. The Old Wulfs Sports Festival was born. The girls not wishing to miss out on the opportunity to see old friends started coming back to play netball, as did a number of hockey players, both boys and girls. The day now attracts over 200 Old Wulfs and the curry has now become a sit down meal in Big School catered for by the school. This is a truly unique event and any Old Wulfs are encouraged to come back and join in. There will always be a team that needs an extra body and many teams are made up of Old Wulfs from a number of different years. The date of the event is normally on the second Saturday in September and can always be found on the school website http://www.wgs.org.uk/ The Old Wulfs Sports Festival Golf Day is always on the Friday before and where possible will be played at South Staffs Golf Club in Tettenhall, www.southstaffordshiregolfclub.co.uk
About the Old Wulfs Sports Festival

You don't need to be a single figure handicap to play. Just a set of clubs a pair of golf shoes and a good sense of humour.

All Old Wulfs, WGS staff and family are welcome to tee it up on the day. Indeed many of us are older than the staff these days.

Old Wulf, Tim Heap challenges all participants to the "Best Dressed Golfer" on the day.

All Old Wulfs welcome to play, boys, girls. mums and dads. Make it a family day out!
